I'm a huge comic book fan. I'm mostly into Marvel stuff, but with video games obviously being another big hobby of mine I really like reading comics based on the games I play. So has anybody read either King of Fighters comic book series? There's a series for Maximum Impact and KoF 2003. The '03 series is only four issues long and the MI series is 8 issues long. They both look pretty awesome, and the MI series is not too expensive.
So if you've read them, is the writing good? How do they compare with Udon's amazing Street Fighter and Darkstalkers comics?
Japanese KoF '96 Complete Set (I'd love to get this series translated) Samurai Showdown (One reviewer says it's not good, the other says it has good animation... I kid you not) SVC Chaos Manga(This is only volume one, there's 8 in total... me want)

I don't have any comics except 3 MOTW ones (because I love MOTW). I think they may be fan comics but they are really well done. There's also one with Rock and Terry which looks vaguely homoerotic.
Once I was going to get the Shenmue comics because I am a big fan of Shenmue, but its hard to imagine anything much interesting happening in them 'Do you remember the day of the incident?' 'Yes that day' 'the day it snowed' 'Hmmm. I see' 'Hello mister - wanna wrestle?'
zzzzzzzzzzzz
"As fun as it was for people like us who knew what we were doing - parrying started a trend where new players were afraid to get into the game. We love Street Fighter III and hope people will keep playing it on PS2, but Street Fighter IV is its own game" Yoshinori Ono producer of Street Fighter IV
Those are probably the comics, but I don't know for sure. I remember reading that they had brought out a Shenmue comic in Japan. Wow - I didn't know you could unlock those. I do have that game on Xbox, but I normally play the DC versions - gives me an excuse to use the old console.
MOTW : I don't know I can't find any links. I can take some photos though. I'll do it soon

A couple years ago, I was very tempted to buy the SvC comics that were released in the U.S. I think there were three comic books, with a fourth one in the making (at the time).

Ok I took pictures of the three MOTW comic books I have . I think they are official SNK ones actually. Since it says SNK on them.
There is an unofficial Terry X Rock fan comic book - I have included some photos of too.
Here is the 3 books. They say 'Memory Edition' and the first one has lots of fights between Terry and various Fatal Fury characters so I presume it is telling the backstory behind the Fatal Fury series.
Here Kim makes a move on Terry's girlfriend and pays the price! (Never mess with Terry!)
Terry takes on Bill Kane next.
Terry does a Power Geyser? (its a big one - so it has to go on 2 pages)
(Apologies for some of these pics - I didn't want to flatten the books too much)

Ok the next book gets into Mark of the Wolves territory proper (say goodbye to the Fatal Fury hat!)

Terry meets my favourite fighter Marco!
Rock gets a B in Math and gets drunk to celebrate. Later he feels depressed about his D in Metalwork. Its also time to meet Gato!
B.Jenet arrives
Terry does some fighting with Grant (I can't be bothered to make stuff up anymore)
(I had to take some of these pics at an angle because its evening and there's shadow from the electric light)

I would love to read some of the King of Fighters '03 comics, Yamazaki looks so badass! I have some King of Fighters: Maximum Impact comics sitting in my desktop, actually. I haven't gotten around to actually reading them, though.
If anyone's interested, I'll gladly upload them.
If you want a heal, say please~

I wouldn't be against downloading any of these comics. Although, I'm the kind of guy who has to own his comics for real so I'd end up buying them all too.
And thanks for those pics, Riko! While I don't see myself buying a Japanese comic unless I'd learn Japanese (not likely), it's still really cool to see the art.

No worries No I don't understand Japanese very well either. I just bought them because I have to have anything MOTW-branded. Fortunately there isnt too much stuff to get

I just downloaded the KoF Kyo manga, conveniently translated in English (the first download I found was translated into Spanish... heh). It's based on KoF '96, which I find odd because there's another official comic series also based on KoF '96 (the one I posted a link to above). I've only read the beginning so far but I will say that it's pretty cool that it starts at the end of the '95 tournament.
